A Man and the

"This documentary is about my father’s work on the
Apollo mission and the trip to the moon. It touches upon the dedication
and spirit of both the astronauts and those working on the program.
My father also relates the hardships and heartbreaks they experienced

This video educates the correlation between color and emotion in
a rather comedic manner. The film was made for a color theory class.

Creating A Zen Garden ( NH/Rindge/

A teacher’s trip to japan inspires schoolchildren and a community
to collaborate on a Zen Garden in southern NH. Dedicated in memory
of all the World War II victims, the Zen Garden is located at the
Cathedral of the Pines in Rindge,NH.
GRANITE
STATE (preview) (CA/NH/ 13min/2007 Directed by Fay Lellios)A
short documentary rounding up the main elements in a work-in-progress
feature of the same title. Four cities, two towns and one unincorporated
village are featured, each offering a unique story based on the
themes of community and endurance.

Keck’s Wooden Heart (Canada/27min./2006/ Directed
by Andrew Palkovic) In the tiny off-the-map community
of Dunchurch, Ontario lives Dieter Keck, carver of burls, roots
and knots. A German immigrant, Dieter has chosen Dunchurch’s
beautiful dense forest as the landscape for his serious but simple
life.
Taking
Back Odiorne (NH/ Portsmouth/ 16min/ 2006/ Directed by Aaron Marinel)
For almost twenty years there have been reports of unusual activities
in Odiorn State Park. Most recently a serial flasher has been plaguing
people recreating there. The series of crimes remain unsolved to
this day, and the filmmaker creates awareness with this documentary.

Gordon Manning: The Sawyer of Sutton Mills ( NH Warner/60 min/2007/
Directed by George Packard)
The movie follows Gordon felling trees, cutting lumber on the mill,
and talking about his life and work. It features visits to the State
of NH’s 1820 water powered sawmill in Derry, NH, and a state
of the art automated production sawmill in Henniker, NH.

High & Outside (WA/84min/2007/ Directed by Peter
Vost)
High And Outside is a documentary/biography of world-class athlete,
self-styled mystic, social and labor activist, and pressroom comedian
Bill “Spaceman” Lee, who pitched for the Boston Red
Sox and Expos for 12 years. He sprinkled marijuana on his buckwheat
pancakes. He was blackballed from baseball following the ’81
strike. Or was he?

Dan Habib rarely thought about inclusion until he had his son Samuel
seven years ago. Now he thinks about inclusion every day. This film
documents the efforts of Habib family to include Samuel, 7, in all
facets of their lives.

Lost and Found in Mexico (Mexico/ 52min/2006/ Directed
by Caren Cross) While many Mexican are leaving families
behind and risking their lives to cross the USA/Mexico border for
a better life, this film focuses on Americans who have crossed the
border in the opposite direction for a simpler life.

Low Down on Low Brow ( Canada/ 48 min/ 2006/ Directed
by Marcus Rogers)
Hotrods, pinups, movies, music, flame jobs, posters, TV, comics,
cowboys, monsters and cartoons. All these things are influences
on the artists creating the work sometimes referred to as "Low
Brow." A look at west coast pop art from the 40s to the future.

Post No Bills (USA/ 57min/ 1992/ Directed by Clay Walker)
"Post No Bills" is the award-winning documentary on infamous
satirical 'guerilla' poster artist Robbie Conal, a professional
painter who has splattered hundreds of thousands of his caricatured
paintings-as-posters across the United States' urban streets.

The only comprehensive video history of New Hampshire’s most
important political event: the Presidential Primary. Old newsreels,
news films, photos, campaign literature and interviews with behind-the-scene
players bring the story to life.

This is a social/musical documentary about a community of people
who are dedicated to the 50s lifestyle. It’s an outside-in
look at a lifestyle continues to transcend space and time.
 
Row Hard: No Excuses ( Spain/NH/Concord/ 88min/ 2007/ Directed by
Luke Wolbach
This documentary chronicles the voyage of the only American entry
in a rowing race across the Atlantic Ocean. It’s both an exciting
rowing adventure as well as an intimate portrait of the two-man
crew that explores masculinity midlife and ambition. (And one of
the rowers is from Concord.)
Scared
Circle: Mt Kearsarge Indian Museum Pow Wow 2006 (NH/Warner/ 45 min/2006/
Directed by George Packard)
The Powwow is an essential part of building and growing the Indian
community, and in New England more and more are taking part each
year. This film depicts one of the best yet, featuring Grey Wolf
Fouliard, a member of the Cree Nation from Warner,NH.
 
Turning Point (OR / 71min/ 2007/
Directed by Ross Williams)
The Turning Point is a personal view of a filmmaker’s journey
through his wife’s pregnancy, the birth of their first child
and the harsh uphill battle of his becoming a father.

The exotic playful nature of this film will leave you rhythmically
overloaded. It defies explanation.
Blind
Leading the Blind (CA/ 18 min/ 2007/ Directed by Danny Gonzales)
Can two Puerto Rican homeboys hang with a blind Jewish Yenta? Can
she have a good time with these two knuckleheads? Follow our two
heroes as they realize the dark yet colorful world of Agnes while
they roam the streets of New York.

The Container (MA/21min/2007/
Directed by Andrew Sniezek)
The Container is a dark comedy that goes behind the metal walls
in a storage facility, where a pleasant man and a troubled woman
cross paths to unlock a hidden truth. This film is silent, with
no subtitles. This film was part of the 2007 Canne Film Festival.
  
Dribbles (NH/Weare/ 100min/2007/ Directed by Thomas Tosi)
Hailed by HBO screenplay coverage as “a surprisingly moving
piece about teen life”
and Republic Pictures coverage as” beautifully written, heartwarming
and quite charming,” this truly independent film tells the
story of a talented high school artist desperate to prove himself
to his runaway father by winning a state basketball championship
jacket.

Driver’s Ed (WA/ 11min / 2005/ Directed by Thom

A high-school girl who's failed her driver's test four times must
get her license in order to save her long-distance relationship.
Her latest instructor thinks he can teach her to drive ... if he
can just survive the first lesson.
Forgetting
Betty( 10min/2007 /Directed by James Anderson and Robert Postrozny)
A lyrical drama about one woman near the end of her life. Set in
a small town outside of Chicago, Betty (Helen Rose), a 96-year-old
Polish widow, leads a lonely life. Her day consists of routine chores,
revisiting past memories, and waiting for the visitor who never
comes. But today is different. Her only grandson (Postrozny) arrives
to celebrate a birthday she would otherwise forget and she is forced
to confront her future and own mortality in this at once joyous
and moving film.

Arthur Yu’s girlfriend, Megan, plans to study abroad in China
for a year, leaving him to waste another college vacation working
at his dad’s fortune cookie factory. An accident involving

Tambellini¹s Black Film Series
(1965-69) ranges from cameraless abstraction to intermedia manipulation

the mass media . These works are turbulent and uncompromising formalist
barrages of image and sound often with significant social meaning.
A rarely
seen two screen version of Tambellini¹s seminal film ³Black
TV² will be
featured. This showing of the Black Film Series includes a newer
film --
the award-winning digital film Listen (2005) which is based on Tambellini¹s
recent poetry and co-directed/edited by Concord filmmaker and UNH
Communication Arts professor Anthony Tenczar. Tenczar will introduce
the
films and Tambellini will be on hand to answer questions.

Dead Soldiers (NH/Concord/ 15min/ 2007/ Directed by Paul Stillwell)
In the time is takes to drink a three beers, a man remembers three
significant relationships in the military.

Sweet Emma ( NC/ 5min/ 2003/ directed by John Cernak)
As the search is given up for Emma’s latest husband, Tucker,
a private look reveals that Emma has a secret and uncontrollable
dark side. The sweetest angel and favorite citizen of Fishtickle
would indeed pose an uncomfortable dilemma for all if her problem
is found out.
Emmaline
(Who Lived by the Sea) ( CT/ 19min/ 2006/ Directed by S.A. Bouchard)
Emmaline is a tale of a woman obsessed with a cataclysmic event
that occurred during her childhood. Turning her back on the world,
she retreats to her own private island and further into the dark
territory of her own psyche.

A little wooden plane, despite the price it must pay, does the impossible
and joins the world it could only dream of.

thought.

Hot Air Balloon takes a lyrical jaunt through one woman’s
memory of her first love. Blending interview footage, with “dressing
up” footage. Contains nudity.

What “The Man” wants, “The Man” gets…and
if you don’t pay attention it will go by in the blink of a
sound bite!

Leatherwing Bat ( MA/ 3min/ 2001/
Directed by E.J. Barnes)
Leatherwing Bat is a gouache-on-paper animation of the traditional
Appalachian folk ballad. Bats and birds complain and rejoice over
their love lives, night and day, day and night.
Startle
Pattern ( NC/ 13min / 2006/ Drected by Eric Patrick)
Startle Pattern is a farewell card to the film medium. In this late
age of emulsion, this essay is a call of the cinematic gaze to a
state of crisis. The film functions as a deconstruction of spectatorship
and authorship in the moving image… a puppet’s formtattered
and decayed, hinting at the Protagonist's delicate relationship
with reality, voyeurism, the director and the apparatus.
The
Tree With Lights in It ( MA/ 5min/2007/ Directed by Jason Harrington)
“When the doctor took off her bandages and led her into the
garden, the girl who was no longer blind saw the tree with lights
in it. “Inspired by this quote from Anne Dillard’s Pilgrim
at Tinker Creek this short animation explores the vision of a young
girl discovering the world for the first time.

This well animated short of the Edgar Allen Poe classic is a treat
to behold.

When a ship passes through a gateway, it brings something mysterious
from another world into ours and then inflicting its good and evil
upon us.

Tucker’s

A young boy’s life changes when he is dumped off at his uncle’s
house by his deadbeat dad. Immediately he’s tortured by uncle
Roo. Beware this is a slasher-film not for the weak stomached; set
in the Holderness woods, delivered with a heavy dose of camp.
